Curtis Francis lovingly called “Big Curt” was born in the Bronx on December 26, 1976. Curtis graduated from George Westinghouse High School in June 1995. After graduation he worked at JFK Airport as a Ramp Agent while attending trade school.
He later graduated from Local 28 Sheet Metal Trade School. Curtis has been a member of Local 28 for over 15 years and enjoyed working with them. In 2008 he started working with New York Transit as a Structural Mechanic.
Curtis enjoyed hanging out with family and friends and traveling. Two of Big Curt’s passions were his great love for music and sneakers, he also enjoyed relaxing.
Curtis is survived by his mother, Genora Francis, his stepfather Lionel James, his father Cecil Powell, his brothers Joel Smith and Bryant Francis, his girlfriend Youlanda Hanna and her daughter Alexis, aunts, uncles and cousins.
...Come unto me all who labor and I will give you rest...Go on and slumber for a while. Curtis will be greatly missed.
